- Potential Tasks for the Student (Software Developer) 1. Backend Software Development o Rust Microservices: Design, implement, and deploy scalable backend services exposing REST or GraphQL APIs. o MongoDB Modeling & Queries: Define data schemas, write optimized queries, and manage indexes for high performance. o Testing & Code Quality: Write unit and integration tests (using Rust or Python frameworks), identify and fix bugs. o Performance Optimization: Profile CPU/memory usage, analyze bottlenecks, and refactor code to improve efficiency. 2. Frontend Software Development o Next.js & TypeScript Components: Build pages, dynamic routes, and reusable UI components following best-practice architecture. o API Integration: Consume and manage backend data (REST/GraphQL), handle state with React Query, SWR, or Redux. o E2E & Component Testing: Set up and run tests with Cypress or React Testing Library to ensure functionality. o UX/UI Collaboration: Implement responsive layouts, adjust designs, and ensure visual consistency and accessibility. 3. AI & Data Science Implementation o Algorithm Development in Python & Rust: Implement machine learning or NLP models for specific use cases. o Data Preprocessing & Analysis: Extract, clean, and transform large datasets in MongoDB to prepare training data. o Model Training & Validation: Configure training pipelines, evaluate metrics (accuracy, recall, etc.), and tune hyperparameters. o Production Deployment: Containerize models (e.g., Docker), expose them as services, and monitor inference performance. 4. Cloud, DevOps & Security o Cloud Infrastructure: Configure compute, storage, and networking services on AWS/Azure/GCP to support applications. o CI/CD Pipelines: Automate builds, tests, and deployments using GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar tools. o DevSecOps Practices: Integrate security scans, dependency checks, and compliance audits into the workflow. o Monitoring & Alerting: Set up Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK Stack to track logs and metrics in production. 5. Documentation & Continuous Improvement o Technical Diagrams & Docs: Create architecture, sequence, and data-flow diagrams; document APIs and components. o Code Reviews: Actively participate in pull request reviews, provide constructive feedback, and enforce quality standards. o Optimization Proposals: Analyze existing systems and suggest refactors, usability enhancements, or new features. 6. Collaboration & Communication o Agile Methodologies: Attend daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and demos; estimate tasks and report progress. o Result Presentations: Demo prototypes or features to the team and stakeholders, clearly explaining technical decisions. o Teamwork: Collaborate with developers, designers, and QA; share knowledge and best practices. o Internal Mentoring: Guide peers, assist in problem-solving, and foster a continuous-learning culture.
